nutrition therapy

What is nutrition therapy for optimal health and weight loss?

Nutrition therapy is a type of treatment. It isn’t just good for people who are overweight, but also for people with certain health conditions and anyone wanting the most out of their body. During the process you will work with a certified Nutrition Therapist to make a nutrition plan just for you.

A Nutrition therapist is a type of healthcare provider with special training in nutrition. This training qualifies them to give counseling on nutrition.

We will look closely at your eating habits. We will help you set new goals. You will meet with us several times. We track your progress and results from each session. We can help you set realistic weight loss goals. Most people should aim to lose about 1 to 2 pounds of fat per week.

Many people find nutrition therapy helpful for weight loss. We can help you plan a healthy, nutritious diet. This can help you make positive lifestyle changes that last.

Why might I need nutrition therapy for weight loss?

Many people know that they need to lose weight, but they are unsure how to do so. We have a proven process, a supportive community and give you a new view on food, which makes this sustainable and possible.

You may not realize that you need to avoid certain foods and eat more of others. Or maybe you are already eating the right foods, but your portion sizes are off a bit. Nutrition therapy can help you make lasting changes.

If you weigh too much, it’s important that you lose weight. This is even more important if you are obese. Weighing too much increases your chance of many health problems and symptoms. These include:

  • Diabetes
  • Brittle Hair
  • Arthritis
  • Cold Sores
  • High blood pressure
  • Heart disease
  • Oily Skin
  • Dry Skin
  • Fine Lines
  • Wrinkles
  • constipation
  • Bloating
  • Fatigue

If you have any concerns, talk with your healthcare provider. Ask if nutritional therapy is right for you. If you have serious health issues, it may not be safe for you to lose weight.

How do I get ready for nutrition therapy?

We give you everything you need to prepare for your first session. We ask you to keep a food journal for a few days before our first meet. You should record all the food you eat during that time. Be honest, this will help us set realistic goals for you.

What happens during nutrition therapy?

Your first appointment will likely last about an hour. You may need several follow-up visits to track of your progress. These checkups may be shorter. You may talk about any other topics contributing to your wellness as well. These can include spotting your triggers for overeating, making strategies for coping with stress, and forming more positive thoughts about food and Cognitive behavioral therapy. Or as we like to call it “Changing Beliefs Therapy”

No foods will be off limits. You will just need to keep portion sizes in check and reduce how often you eat certain foods. Be upfront with us about the changes you’re ready to make. You should also be honest about which changes are difficult for you.

We will carefully watch and guide you over a series of sessions.

How well nutrition therapy works depends on how much effort you put into it. We can give you information and suggestions, but you must change your habits. We can support you along the way.

After your first series of visits with us, you can always come back for follow-up sessions. You can book yourself directly into my schedule. You might want to do this for a variety of reasons we are here for you.

You may also want to join Our Perfect Portions Facebook weight-loss support group. Working with others can help you reach your weight-loss goals.

Weight loss works best when good eating habits are paired with other changes, such as getting more exercise. Talk with your healthcare provider before starting a new exercise program.

Know that losing weight takes work and time. Making small but significant lifestyle changes will have long-term effects. It can be challenging to make these changes at first, but the benefits are worth it.

Jeremy Piccott’s clients and staff play a constructive role by supporting a wide range of initiatives to promote education, including lifestyle modification, Anti-Aging, physical activity promotion and meditation practices.

Many of Jeremy Piccott’s members also offer workplace wellness programs that provide a variety of plans and tools to help employees improve and sustain overall health and well being.

We follow three steps to a perfect body. These steps are as
follows:

1. Nutrition Therapy

Nutrition Therapy is the use of nutrition science to promote health, improve performance and is also used for individual care. Certified Nutritional Therapist Jeremy Piccott uses an extensive range of tools in order to assess along with identify and correct the nutritional deficiencies and imbalances. We understand how these contribute to an individual’s symptoms and health concerns. Every vitamin and mineral has a specific job to do. Getting the proper amount is essential to an optimally running body.

2. Fitness Programs

Starting a fitness program might just be one of the very best things you can do to improve the quality of life as well as your health. Physical activity can increasingly reduce your risk of chronic disease, anti-aging, improve your balance and coordination, help you lose weight, and can even work to improve your sleep habits along with self-esteem.

3. Wellness

After we have completed both of the above-mentioned programs
you are going to be on the path towards complete fitness and wellness!
